What makes us, us?

We are shaped by what we carry: stories, memories, grief, love, and the places we come from. This exhibition brings together artists reflecting on remembrance, loss, identity, and roots. Through their work, we explore the quiet weight of memory, the echoes of those we've lost, and the invisible threads that connect us to who we are and where we come from. We are all human. What makes us, us?

CTY x Canapé

Reminiscence takes place at Villa Canapé. The villa was once a principal’s residence, later a primary school. Today it is the familiar home of collective Canapé. Throughout the villa several traces remain that recall the building's history: the kids toilets, the coat hooks on the wall and the hearts on the floor where rows were formed.

In this expo, Curating the Young repurposes the building. A group of young artists look back at the past. From their own perspective, they explore how memories attach themselves to people and objects. They ask questions around identity, family, mourning, nostalgia, healing....

Discover the artists

The works in the exhibition are intimate and vulnerable. They reveal both individual experiences and collective feelings. Some memories are the artists' own, others are borrowed. With objects, sculptures and materials, the artists allow the past to speak. These fragments of the past take on new meanings in the present.
